The (Canadian) Cannabis Act legalized recreational cannabis use in 2018. As a result, employers may encounter situations where cannabis use affects employees in the workplace. This creates safety concerns, particularly where employees are engaged in driving, operating heavy equipment and machinery, or performing other physical activities.
